Vehicular Antenna Concept: Vehicular Hull (Chassis) Pattern Antenna

Recently just watching an episode of "NOVA" on the PBS TV channel titled "Hunting The Hidden Dimension". It was on the mathematical branch of "Fractal Geometry" and its discovery and its current applications. Particularly related to this concept entry on how an Astronomy Professor then student utilized the first fractal geometric antenna. Where in today's applications our cell phones utilize a chip set of a miniature fractal antenna array. So instead of our cell phones having 10 antenna's poking out of them. They use a computer chip that functions as a miniature fractal geometric antenna array.

My concept expands on such a cellular phone idea and inverts it into a macro antenna. Instead of a computer chip in miniature form within a cell phone as the fractal antenna. The antenna array of a future vehicle or naval vessel will have an exterior layered fractal geometric pattern onto it's chassis or hull. That will double as a decentralized antenna communication array package. Instead of a fixed point centralized "Conning Tower" on a military naval vessel be it a ship or submarine. Where if it's knocked out by storm or combat damage, good luck in repairing it out in the field.

In this case if a military naval vessel has a VHPA (Vehicular Hull Pattern Antenna) layered on its exterior ships hull. If any one or multiple points of the hull takes damage be it natural or man made. The remaining operable VHPA fractal pattern communication array can be reconfigured out in the field. Similar to why the "Internet" was created by DARPA. (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) Which was during the Cold War if the "Soviet Union" attacked and we had a decentralized communications hub in America. We could survive a nuclear Holocaust and remain a viable force during its aftermath. With a "Vehicular Hull Pattern Antenna" it makes a centralized communications hub on a sea going vessel or a land ground vehicle redundant and decentralized. Thus enabling a continued exchange of data, video, & voice communications package out in the field during natural or man made incidents.

Ground Vehicles, Naval Vessels, Aerial Craft, and potentially astronautical space craft can benefit from a VHPA on board system. The applications are near limitless that can include public transit systems to defense applications on unmanned droned vehicles.

Gems of Opportunity: Land Development Concept: "The Village Complex"

Currently in Las Vegas later this year a very upscale luxury land development project by the Las Vegas Strip called "City Center" will be debuting. (www.citycenter.com) Basically, it is a complex of 4 hotel/condo mixed-use buildings with a shopping mall on ground level. All offered by the resort chain of "Mirage" where each of the four towers will be offered by a different luxury hotel chain.

Now consider my idea concept that takes a land development like that scale above, but doubles it. Not just for the high-end upscale citizen, although they will be included as a demographic group. The project will be directly catered towards the "Middle Class" economically speaking. By creating a nearly self-contained indoor "Village Complex" designed Oval like a sports stadium with a hurricane Plexiglas resistant domed skyline. Also the introduction of "Horizontal Elevators" going sideways allowing residents and consumers alike to efficiently travel the scope of this "Village Complex".

The reason why for such a bio-domed community of tomorrow but here today? The word is "Global Warming" temperatures along our equator will only be increasing abnormally with new record highs being a near common experience. Forcing many people indoors into a temperature controlled climate zones. Thus the pre-cursor 20th-century indoor mall will give yield to the 21st-century indoor village complex. Taking the "Mall of America" in Bloomington, Minnesota to the next generation level. (www.mallofamerica.com)

Picture an 8 tiered indoor Village complex where from bottom to top I'll explain what I envision as the basic floor plans. Below ground level is the power plant and water/sewage treatment facility (Tier 8) following LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Standards. Above the power plant and treatment facilities and at ground level is the indoor "Parking Garage"(Tier 7). At Tier 7 we start getting at the spine backbone of this complex as in the commercial sectors. Tier 6 will include the domestic markets such as supermarket, drug store, discount store, banks, office supply store, mass-merchandiser store, an auto-parts store, etc... This tier will also include a "Police Sub-Station" if not a dedicated Security Firm contracted to protect the "Village Complex".

At Tier 5 we enter the commercial "Office Spaces" leased to small to medium businesses. Such as law firms, architects, medical practitioner offices, financial brokerage offices, real estate firms, etc... Tier 4 will include the "Shopping Mall" district with store outlets such as restaurants, fitness clubs, fast food court, boutiques, bookstores, department stores, kiosk merchants, video game arcades (LAN), coffee house, movie theaters, etc...

At Tier 3 we begin seeing the residential living units such as the low to high end "Condo" units. Where closest to the middle-end condo units will be an "Indoor Public Park" open to all. Yes, you heard me correctly a public park for children and certain athletic sports fields. This "Indoor Public Park" will have a hurricane resistant glass domed ceiling. So natural sunlight can illuminate this public park during daylight hours.

At Tier 2 we reach the Luxury Hotel Resort as the Crown Jewel of the "Village Complex". Be they tourists or business travelers coming to enjoy a skyline view of the local city. Similar to those with Condo living units in Tier 3 those in Tier 2 will have access to an "Indoor Public Scenic Park" with a pond that has waterfowl be they swans or what have you. With either local horticulture fauna or a botanical garden manicured to near perfection. If the botanical garden is utilized it will need to be cared for by an accredited research horticulturalists. The public indoor scenic park slash gardens will also have access to direct sunlight. Via a similar Plexiglas domed ceiling that is hurricane resistant much like in Tier 3.

The Crown itself will be Tier 1 with the rooftop system utilized as a green organic farm. Be it hydroponic or some other green farming practices where the produce cultivated will be consumed on site by the "Village Complex" itself. Any rainfall captured on the rooftop areas will be filtered and also utilized locally for the operations of the "Village Complex". Be it for farming, maintenance use, or potable drinking water for the local population. Including various arrays of solar power panels that follow where the sun is shining during the year. Besides that of wind turbine towers pivoting where the rooftop winds are strongest during the day.

If the "Village Complex" does take hold as a sustainable green urban living center as a form of social engineering. It can be duplicated nearly anywhere worldwide for the betterment of commerce and especially for humanity via our Earth.

Prediction: Health Care Costs In America As Next Economic Bubble To Pop

In this blog site I've done less than a handful of Predictions through the years. One looming mega-trend I can forecast is that the rising health care costs in the good old USA. Will be one of the next recessions or economic bubbles our country will face with near certainty. I draw my conclusion since our current infamous "Great Recession" brought about foreclosures in Real Estate. Where the market out priced itself including the secondary slap of loose credit lending practices. I foresee that the titans of "Big Pharma" & the "Insurance Industry" are milking the American Consumer until that delicious last drop.

Since now our nations prosperous GDP (Gross Domestic Product) has 13%-16% dedicated solely to Health Care costs. Taking note nearly 1/3 of Americans around 47 million as uninsured and another 25-60 million as under insured. In a nation of around 320 million plus citizens, and this is taking into account the illegal immigrant population as a undocumented labor force.

So that leaves about two thirds (2/3) of American citizens who are blessed (or cursed at inflated prices) to afford medical / dental insurance policies. The rest are in the lurch so to speak.

Allow me to make a statement that is shocking and probably insane in our current society. If the US Federal Government were to adopt a "Universal" health policy since we're the only laggard in the West. It can pay for it in near perpetuity, not in today's hyper-inflated health care prices. But in tomorrow's sustainable negotiated health care prices where a modest profit can still be made! The profits being made now are the equal greed to what brought us into this "Great Recession"!

Our lawmakers in either Federal or State congress know this but they are beholden more to the industry than to the American People. If there was ever a silent coup d'etat led by capitalists in America, this is it.

So wait until the common people become savvy to this disgrace. And when they do it will be too late since the economic bubble would've popped right in our collectives faces.

Food Storage Concept: Food Plastic Roll Bags (Vents Air)

Hello All,

Doing a quick cursory search via Google for a food storage plastic bag that vents excess air manually by rolling the bag. I've found nothing, but I did locate was a Ziploc Hand Pump manual freezer bag. Besides a Reynolds vacuum bag for the freezer and for regular refrigerator usage.

My evolutionary idea is only a matter of time give or take a couple of years. (That's if a patent hasn't already been filed for one) Before it is utilized for the food storage industry which it is already being utilized for storing clothing. That being either the famous "Space Bag" or "Pack Mate" brands sell a travelers plastic storage bag for clothing. That a user merely rolls the bag to remove excess air from within. For a slim and economical storage for packing whilst traveling.

While Ziploc or Reynolds nickel and dimes consumers with a vacuum seal bags. Expect one of the national food storage brands to trump them at the market with a roll-bag that manually vents air. No contraption necessary to use a simple "Roll Bag" similar to using a kitchen roller pin. Where either the plastic storage bag has a flap at the bottom that forces air out and not in. Or a similar suction hole that with manually rolling the plastic storage bag. Will force the air out via such a vent and thus extend the shelf life of the stored food.

Only time will tell who beats who to market with such a simple and gradual evolution for food storage.

Land Development Concept: "The American Riviera Project"

Hello All,

Although unofficially the "America Riviera" is considered the "Santa Barbara" coastline off of California. This concept will deal more with something else quite differently in geographic location of the United States.

What I have in mind is when I originally wrote this concept back in December 2007. (yes, this is another archived concept from my collection of notebooks) Back in late 2007 is when the Category 5 to 3 hurricane of "Katrina" first struck South Florida through Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Then continuing in its wayward course through the Everglades and out into the Gulf of Mexico. Where it made direct impact onto the depleted barrier islands or marshlands of the Louisiana coastline. Smacking into "New Orleans" as a category 3 hurricane and flooding portions of this American iconic city.

That in brief is the trepid history of Hurricane "Katrina". Which is another name that will live in infamy for the decades to come along the Gulf Coast of America.

However with foresight and hopefully a lack of corruption and/or of incompetence. A project like the "American Riviera" could be developed with the necessary vision and competence needed. Inter-connected municipalities like links in a chain would consist of the "American Riviera Project". From the cities of Key West all the way dotting along to New Orleans.

As a much needed environmental sustainability component restoration of the Florida Everglades would continue to receive additional private dollar funding. At least in the portion of the Everglades from Key West to Naples which is pristine and undeveloped. It'll stay that way for generations to come as a natural wonder. Another environmental sustainability location would be the barrier islands or marshlands off the coast of Louisiana. That after decades of neglect or underfunded mandates the "American Riviera Project" would hopefully complete past empty promises or pledges from the Federal / State Governments. Where by re-nourishment of such marshlands would be a high priority to help ensure as a natural barrier, for the land development to come along the Gulf Coast of America.

Once the environmental sustainability and mitigation factors are being addressed and confronted. Years ahead of breaking any ground for land development. Although during this environmental re-nourishment period there is plenty of work to be done. Gaining much needed private financing for the projects to come and the Federal / State / Municipality permits to undergo such a project.

When actual land development can commence after the environmental, legal, and additional funding has been secured. Than similar to how the "Chunnel" project that connected France and England via the "English Channel" can be approached. Where land development in this case would commence from Key West / Naples and simultaneously at New Orleans. Starting at both end points where each link in the chain of municipalities will eventually meet in the middle.

Another cornerstone of the "American Riviera Project" is any jobs generated stay local. Be it with environmentalists to the local Corp of Army Engineers if required. If any additional engineering or architectural planning must be done abroad, OK. However all boots on the ground must be resourced locally so as to help convince Local / State governments. Of the sincerity of any jobs and tax revenue created will stay local when under going the permitting process and the sourcing of local contractors if any are nearby. (if not contracted by the region)

What the "American Riviera Project" will entail is the redevelopment of the battered or neglected Gulf Coast of the United States. Redevelopment will help ensure local economies will get a boost by creating and attracting: Tourist, Hospitality / Casino, Industrial, Research Firms to invest in these locales. The Industrial / Research components would consist of new industries of manufacturing that the 21st century will demand. If not academic and technological research requirements that helped pioneer America as a super power in the former 20th Century. State Government "Tax Breaks" and other private industry incentives from the collaborators of the "American Riviera Project" will lure such institutions to the region. If they are already located in such a portion of the Gulf Coast States than they are ensured that they will stay. Aiding them in their continued outgrowth of their preexisting facilities and complexes.

The whole concept of the "American Riviera Project" is to foster a renewal of America along the Gulf of Mexico US States. That have either been neglected by Government or Private Self-Interests if not the damaging effects that Hurricanes Katrina has left in its wake for potentially decades to come.

Do we have the Courage and Foresight similar to what Eisenhower initiated with "The U.S. Interstate Highway System"? Or is such an American vision left behind dead in the 20th century as history only and no more?

Wireless Internet Concept: Mass Transit As Mobile Wireless Net Hubs

Rifling through my old notebooks I discovered this original concept I wrote back in December 2002. Regarding the usage of free wireless Internet offered by a local municipality via its local transit authority.

The idea would go like this where the city transit system would furnish city buses / shuttles with a cellular package. This would be placed on the roof of the vehicle as an antenna where additional equipment is stored in some outside the reach panels. Be it on the floor or rear segment of a mass transit vehicle that it is "out of sight and out of mind" from being vandalized.

Now for those bus stations where numerous passengers transfer to a different route. The cellular server farms can be kept with some IT staff as needed for maintenance and inspections of quality of service. Also, the "sheltered bus stops" can have a fixed array on its roof. Where each passing city bus or shuttle can link up to it as a node and boost its cellular signal into a community. Of course, a security camera can be placed on the sheltered bus stop so as to avoid unauthorized tampering or vandalism. The security cameras can be an extension of the local law enforcement in community policing. Much like in modern cities in Europe (IE London in CCTV) or elsewhere in modern American cities across the nation.

An added twist at the Bus transfer stations or the sheltered bus stops. To replace the 20th-century poster advertisements with 21st century Organic LCD's that are paper thin. Where under a shatter proof and scratch-resistant Plexiglas the video advertisements can be situated throughout a bus station or sheltered bus stop.

The benefit for the mass transit authority is additional advertising revenue. For supporting such a cellular mobile network of wireless Internet connectivity for its citizens. Including if an "Amber Alert" or other emergency alert needs to be broadcast. Such as a "Weather Alert" like here in Florida during Hurricane season or other freak storms or "Traffic Alerts". Such an Organic LCD display system rolled out over the mass transit network grid of bus stations or sheltered bus stops. Would aid the local municipal government in such media alerts as needed. Perhaps even to be utilized by local Police Stations to circulate in a 21st-century manner the "Wanted" criminal posters. (such as "Crime Stoppers")

This is a win / win / win situation for the local citizens, mass transit authority, and the local law enforcement for community development.

Game Resale Concept: Game Publishers Keeping Profits On Game Resales

I have read many a time how game publishers be they EA (Electronic Arts), Sony, Microsoft, THQ, amongst others lament. On how they are losing royalties when consumers of games (gamers) resale they're game title as a "trade-in". At places like Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, GameStop, or at a small business video game retailer. Where the aforementioned retailers above resale a used game or basically rent them out to their customer base. All the while extending the shelf life of a game title at the expense of the game publisher.

What if a game publisher turns the table on such a secondary market? By beating those secondary market resellers of games at they're own game. (pun fully intended)

The manner of which I see this could benefit the game publisher and the consumer at the same time. Since the gamer / consumer will need an incentive in order to part with their hard copy of a game title.

The game publisher will offer a 50% off retail store credit with the game publisher E-Commerce site. Besides offering the consumer a future 10% discount on any future game they purchase from their E-Commerce site. There can be other marketing or publicity incentives like a free T-Shirt of a game title of their choice, etc...

What this will do is lower the circulation of "Traded Games" in the secondary market. From the usual retailers that skirt the game publishers in paying additional royalties in reselling a game title. Be it as a "used product" or on a continual basis as a "rental product" at POS. (Point of Sale)

When a gamer (consumer) does sell back their game title to the game publisher. The publisher will send out a CD / DVD mailer sleeve postage paid. At no cost to the consumer in order to return the hard copy of the game title. There could be additional requirements such as including the original game manual. But that will be up to the discretion of the game publisher policy in buying back used games they once sold previously.

Behind the scene once a game publisher receives the used game into their inventory. They can "Re-Purpose" the game title, as in ascribing a new unique CD Key to the disc. Including updating the game disc with any additional game patches since the original product sold at retail. Once the game disc has been refurbished it can be resold by the game publisher as a "Used Game Title". At a reduced price point from their game publisher E-Commerce site or anywhere else in their distribution network of retail outlets.

The savvy game publishers could even make offers to purchase back game title discs from their rival game publishers. Where for a small processing fee they ship back in volume to the original game publisher the used game title. Where the original game publisher can "re-purpose" the used game procured from their competitor game publisher for resale.

All the while the consumer (gamer) gets the incentives of store credit and a future discount of a game purchase. From the proprietary E-Commerce site the game publisher owns and operates exclusively. A win / win situation for the consumer and game publisher at the expense of retailers of trade in's and rentals. That have cheated game publishers of their royalties in full due.

This concept I would rather credit to Mr. Clint Eastwood when he directed 2 versions of the same film. Being that of the WWII Pacific battle of "Iwo Jima". One being from the allied American perspective and the other from the Japanese Empire point of view.

My suggestion is to take this concept and give a twist for a popular entertainment IP (Intellectual Property) franchise. Popular entertainment IP suggestions could be: Star Trek, Lord of The Rings, Harry Potter, DC Comics, Marvel Entertainment, or in my example below Star Wars.

The "Perspectives Treatment" is not limited to such blockbuster hit films at the box office. It can span other forms of entertainment mediums, such as: print (magazine or novels), music, Internet (videos or websites), etc...

Let's take for example a popular hit film like "Star Wars" the original Episode 4 that started it all for director "George Lucas". Using the "Perspectives Treatment" Episode 4 would be redone using the main and sub-plot lines of an array of secondary "heroes & villains". From the bias of the Galactic Empire in psychology and motivations in the story telling process. Offering additional content from the same time line of Episode 4 of the Star Wars Universe. Where the story is told from the view of the Galactic Empire as being justified if not righteous in its own presumption of their own actions.

Basically re-writing the Star Wars tale from the view of the Empire. In future renditions of the "Perspective Treatment" the bias can be from the "Rebels" or from the "Civilian Populace". All the while following the main story plot line but adding secondary in-depth sub-plot lines. With an entire additional cast of "Heros & Villains" so as to give the IP brand additional legs in its story telling.

That is in a nutshell what the "Perspectives Treatment" is all about.

Within this blog site of mine since 2005 I have been sharing my hobby of creative solutions. That often double as potential business opportunities for the inclined. Or technological directions for the brave of heart that wish to pursue them with the means to pull it off.

The original solutions I have shared here at least in my awareness of them being new and unique. Is only a sampling of what I have recorded in my notebooks over the years as a personal hobby. So for those readers who think "wow" what has been shared on this humble blog site is interesting. This has only been a peek or a crack opening of the treasure chest I have been gifted with in life thus far.

I try to share those novel and unique solutions here that will have the most impact on society at large. I hope one day this hobby of mine becomes a career outlet instead. Perhaps with a firm like "Accenture" or the like in the future, who knows?
