Communication Console Concept: Hospital Guest To Patient Chat System

Hello All,

It seems for the most part hospital visitations by guests be it family or friends. Is limited to mid 20th century technological restrictions of the land line telephone call. (via a switchboard operator) Or the very traditional in-person hospital visit by a guest.

My concept blows past this traditional model of hospital guest visitations and ushers it into the early 21st century. Picture a communications console not to dissimilar from a laptop computer on a swivel arm attached to a hospital bed. It has a chief monitor, keyboard, microphone, one of several web cams in the room, and speakers. The communication console will also have "Voice Recognition Software" so a patient can go hands free be it in typing or interfacing with the console.

Every hospital guest will need to register themselves with the hospital website. Where they'll be authenticated by registering their Drivers License or State Picture ID card. Since patient security (privacy) is of utmost sensitivity. Besides to avoid every stranger to have access to a patients rooms they shouldn't be communicating with initially. The guest once authenticated will be given an access ID login and password. Where they'll encounter a social networking page provided by the hospital for the patient. Similar to "Facebook" in format with a: Wall for written messages, IRC (Instant Relay Chat) styled chat room, an incorporated secure Twitter page for health updates on the patient, a contact listing of registered guests, a subsequent contact list of on-duty nurses and doctors that are willing to take questions on the patients status, and other novelty applications. (like graphic icons of virtual flowers, etc...) Most importantly there will be a "Web Cam Chat Room" for either one one one video chats. Or multiple guests conversing at a time chatting with the patient.

The hospital can provide a default patient profile setting for their social networking page on the communication console. Which a tech savvy patient can customize to their preferences. The security settings to a patients profile can toggle "on or off" if video chats with audio dialogue is recorded or not. If text chat log is recorded or not, etc... However if a registered guest logging into the communication console of a patient is verbally abusive with the patient of hospital staff. The hospital security staff can override the patient profile setting to record all content. In order to provide evidence of an abusive registered guest from having very limited access to the patient or none at all. The communication console will also provide to the hospital staff with sufficient clearance to view an activity log. The activity log can be in text or a video / audio log that can be scanned to view any signs to a patients health.

The Communication Console like I stated earlier can have more than one situated web camera in the hospital room. In order for the guest to view the patient from multiple angles in the hospital room if the patient is asleep. If a patient is sleeping the Nurse can input an access code to mute all verbal contact with the patient during their rest. The communication console can also have a LED bulb that goes green to red. Green is when a virtual presence has connected and is interacting with the patient. Red is when there are no registered guests on the communication console. If a patient chooses to record any video, audio, or text chats on their profile settings. They can be handed over as a private secure download at their leisure upon their release from the hospital. As a keepsake for themselves or to be shared with close relatives at their discretion.

The 1st generation of these communication consoles can be rolled out to private hospital rooms. As an additional layer of a hospital amenity for the patient to utilize during their stay. The communication console will no doubt revolutionize hospital patient to guest visitations. Allowing relatives & close friends to visit a loved one from across the country or around the globe if need be.

Games Industry Concept: Game Achievements Rewarded With Retailer Incentives

For years now we as gamers with electronic games have reached achievement after achievement within a game title. Where by these milestones only served us in gaining additional ranks, in-game equipment, and status. Now with this concept the model for game achievements will evolve for the better and have a greater meaning to us.

Picture it when you reach anything from a trivial to majestic in-game achievements you'll be rewarded in kind by a retailer. Anything from using your first weapon in a FPS game title that offers you a retailer discount or cash rebate on your purchases. Up to in finishing a single player RPG game title by being rewarded a retailer or VISA cash gift card.

That in a nutshell is this idea that steps us forward as gamers in positive experiences. With a dual meaning for our game play and shopping habits being rewarded with another layer of incentives.

What I'm about to explain below are the intricacies of how such a plan could be pulled off by a company, game league outfit, or game publisher. This is not however one of those gimmicky programs that a gamer deposits his or her own cash to compete to win.

First, I consider this concept an evolution from what game developers already do to a game title. In terms of achievements, be they in the form of: trophies, badges, pins, or insignias in regarding a players milestone in the game title itself. Next, this concept also builds on top of what game publisher Microsoft has done with "Xbox Live" and by offering Xbox point reward system. That can be used for various downloads of media purchases be it: indie game titles, Tv episodes ala iTunes, or other offerings.

My evolution of this concept builds on what game developers and what Microsoft utilizes with Xbox points in a point system. And takes it to the next level by tying gamer achievements in a game title(s) to retailer incentives under 4 Tiers of awards. Where each achievement that is recorded in a game triggers a point system not unlike XBox Live utilizes. But also via the tier system would unlock from least to greatest retailer incentives. Such as: discounts on selected retailers participating in this program, shopper cash rebates by % (low percents for lower achievements, higher for bigger milestones), merchandise coupons be they free items or discount, and Gift or Cash Cards of various denominations. To top it all off contests and sweepstakes that individual players or entire clans or guilds can participate in for a shared prize pool. Be it: a vacation trip to a gamer convention such as "Comic-Con or E3", electronics, computer hardware, cars, cash prizes up to the millions US dollars.

The 4 Tier system would go like this: Bronze Tier 1 offers retailer discounts, Silver Tier 2 offers cash rebates or merchandise coupons, Gold Tier 3 offers Cash or Gift cards, Platinum Tier 4 offers mid to high end prizes.

Participating Corporate Sponsors can be enrolled into this program and be charged a maintenance fee as one of the several revenue streams for this company. Besides any discounts, cash rebates, coupons, or prize items offered up to the program for participating retailers. That commissions can also be paid for member referrals for any of their bonafide tracked consumer purchases. Including advertising from the sponsors that display in this program. Or fee's collected from consumer survey panels for offering their surveys to a locked group of a demographic of gamer enthusiasts.

The reward point system that the users (gamers) accumulate can be redeemed for various prizes from a reward catalog. Similar as to how online consumer survey panels offer their members. There can also be an auction site to bid on prizes with their reward points that have been earned from in-game achievements. Free reward points promotions can be offered by retailers. Or additional points earned when a user redeems and uses their retailer discounts, cash rebates, merchandise coupons, etc...

Targeted corporate sponsors or retailers can be: Computer and software makers, beverage and snack makers, electronic stores, fast food restaurants, clothing stores, music & movie stores, or types of franchise locations, game outlet stores, Mass merchandisers like Walmart, or E-Commerce retailers like Amazon.

This is a concept waiting to be seized by a enterprising company that can see the potential to be had for gamers (consumers). Giving a whole new meaning to in-game achievements from the gamers and retailers perspective.

906) When a society is divided from itself by divisive ideologies, Lo and behold its own undoing is at hand. Inviting an atmosphere of polarizing behavior that becomes uncivilized and hateful. Such a path of beliefs will only spiral downwards away from peace and democracy. Leading to civil eruptions be they protests or riots that are violent and antagonistic. Instead of seeking the "Middle Way" of compromise and a compact of a declared public trust in good faith. We will experience ruin in all its chaotic forms until we want not to bleed and hate no more. Atrayo's Oracle Blog Site Reaches Its 5th Yr. Anniversary!

With a happy heart I could have not realized that my humble and mostly undiscovered blog site has reached its 5th year anniversary. (This past July 24th) For any readers who happen to come by and discover us I offer you a treasure horde of unique solutions as my foresight envisions it. For those of a spiritual inclination I offer you another Aladdin's cave of riches consisting of spiritual wisdom that is of a universal outlook.

All of it original content and all of it "FREE" as it appears here for your viewing pleasure and enlightenment.

During these 5 years of "Atrayo's Oracle" I have published Volume 1 of the "Jewels of Truth" series. (available for purchase in the links section, yes shameless plug) Whether it be in: paperback, e-book, and now recently in the Kindle addition. Also a little over a year ago this blog site is available as a subscription blog site on the Amazon Kindle device itself.

This is on top of additional material that will eventually make its way to Volume 2 & 3. Of the "Jewels of Truth" series on spiritual wisdom. Besides less frequent spiritual writings of my own hand similar to the recent "Incarnations of Absolute Love".

Software Concept: Software Suites For Smart Phones & Apple iPhones

Hello All,

How many software applications are there to date for the iPhone series of smart phones?

One estimate I heard some time ago was that their were 30,000 applications for the games section alone.

What if some forward thinking software developer for Apple or smart phones in general. Decides to bundle many of the higher quality applications into a Software Suite. Similar as to how Microsoft for years now has done the "Windows" series of operating system suites. But in this regard develop it for smart phones in particular be they for: Apple, Google, Microsoft, or some other player in the market place.

Think of it a software suite purchased offering better quality software applications. Than being nickle and dimed ala carte for each individual software application. Yes, there are a plethora of "Free" software apps out there for download. However I'm speaking more towards those that are being purchased at a few dollars or so without knowing if they're any good.

Software suites can consist of a generalized application package with a little bit of everything. Or be specialized that cater to select categories such as: Business, Entertainment, Games, News, Music, Photography, Sports, etc...

On top of all this a software developer can go one further and provide "Customer Service" for their suite packages. Where many of today's software applications are often more self-help by other users. Than anything resembling an air of dedicated customer support be it by: email, online chat, message board, or phone modes of outreach.

So instead of scouring through a sea of app's for a smart phone or Apple's iPhone series. Go instead with a software suite that is of a better quality with actual technical customer service offered.

Banking Concept: Credit / Debit Card "Region Lock" Feature

Hello All,

I myself having been the victim of a stolen credit / debit card account number. Where a fraudulent transaction took place in London UK and I live here in the State of Florida. I know the headaches this can cause having to change my credit / debit card numbers. Besides the much needed "back and forth" correspondence with my bank.

Aside from my personal experiences the black market of stolen credit / debit card account details is probably worth billions of dollars world-wide. Where a soccer mom's credit card details are stolen and it ends up in Russia via a criminal syndicate.

My concept is to prevent this vicious cycle of credit / debit card account details theft through a security feature known as the "Region Lock". Whereby an account holder of a credit / debit card logs into their bank account online. Where they can select via a global map the: continent, regions, national province, or U.S. State where they're credit / debit card is authorized for use. The physical credit / debit card itself will not have any sort of acknowledgment that this security feature is in place.

So for example I would select my authorized "Region Lock" areas to be either the State of Florida. Or I could select regions of North America or parts of my State of Florida. Such as South West Florida where my home town is located in Sarasota and selecting South Florida. Due to vacation trips I take to visit family in Miami once a year.

If my credit / debit card becomes stolen through the loss of my account details. Where it ends up in Asia lets say Hong Kong and it gets used in a retail transaction. An unauthorized security flag will go up instantly where the merchant in Hong Kong and my local bank would be alerted that my account credit / debit card have become compromised.

Such a banking security feature for credit / debit cards may also devastate the resale black market abroad. Where thieves or criminal syndicates themselves will no longer make a dishonest profit at the expense of unsuspecting individuals. Where a banks fraud insurance policy in premiums may actually go down. Due to a lower incident rate of stolen credit / debit card numbers in covering fraudulent transactions.

Yes, the Region Lock security feature may be useless in terms to physical credit / cards that are stolen locally and used locally. However nowadays these are becoming the minority of credit / debit card thefts. Where the majority of fraudulent transactions are occurring abroad for stolen account details.

If not, why hasn't the courier service providers be they: UPS (United Parcel Service), Fed Ex (Federal Express), DHL, or USPS (U.S. Postal Service) ever capitalized on this song for an advertisement campaign?

Game Industry Commentary: Will DLC Spell The End For The Modder Community?

Hello All,

This question popped into my head will a game publishers exclusive DLC, be it paid or free with the purchase of a particular game title. Force an unhealthy competition between the modder community of say "Bad Company 2" a FPS title from Electronic Arts (EA)?

Right now gamers of the PC platform are waiting with baited breathe for each new DLC map pack. Never mind that EA / DICE is only releasing new game modes to the recent map packs of 2 & 3. This technically would cause friction in terms of effort and eyeballs with the modder community. To the remarks of EA / DICE that they won't release a mod editor to "Bad Company 2" (BC2). Because they are still learning and getting a handle on the game engine called "Frostbite" .

Is this subterfuge on the part of EA / DICE where all new content will only come from them in the form of DLC? (Downloadable Content) Or is this a stretch on my part where I'm just merely mistakened?

I was just using Electronic Arts as the most recent example of this potentially new trend. Where a game publishers DLC will clash with independent modders for just the love of the game. Yes, mod editor tools have extended the shelf life of many FPS multiplayer game titles. Besides RPG's like "Never Winter Nights" series to name one in that genre. But, now that DLC is coming into its own it will also extend the shelf life of a game for a game publisher. However it will generate additional income similar to micro-transactions for MMO F2P business model of games.

No doubt EA is the vanguard pushing hard on DLC for games like: Bad Company 2, Mass Effect 2, and Dragon Origins. Will EA through Bioware seek to insert the twin to DLC as in micro transactions in SW:TOR?

Time will tell especially as the game beta period gets closer.

How would modders feel to FPS or RPG games that DLC would rub them out of the picture?

Criminal Law Concept: Protection Against Rabid Press & Paparazzi

Hello All,

This concept of mine will be very controversial due to the unrestrained News Media in our country. Where ownership of media outlets is by a handful of monopoly owners in America. What I am proposing is a standardized Rules of Engagement that the Press and Paparazzi must adhere to when pursuing the people of their next news / gossip scoop. Where this will be written into the penal code for law enforcement here in the States. (hopefully at a Federal level one day to come) The reason for such criminal legislation is readily apparent that the news media can not police their behavior or conduct. Much less the lunatic paparazzi that have gone as far as to aid in the death of a beloved Princess Diana. If the Press and Paparazzi wish to be treated as Predators of the public good than so shall it be.

I'll break down into 3 Stages of civilized conduct where the Press can get their story with prior consent. Besides beat back the throngs of unchecked paparazzi that can cause harm or destruction of property far too easily.

Beginning at Stage 3 and working my way backwards:

Stage 3:

The "Press & Paparazzi" will conduct their business in a modified version of a Restraining Order as a new subjected penal code category. Where upon a hybrid modification of harassment and/or stalker laws will apply to the fullest extent of the law. Where criminal penalties can be anything from a felony to a misdemeanor with additional imposed fines.

Those who have committed a suspected criminal act and are suspects (persons of interest) will be treated as presumed innocent until proven guilty. There are unfortunate a plethora of examples that the Press have marred criminal suspects that were later proven innocent. Where the court of public opinion has demonized such people where the damage to their reputation is despicable. Be it in televised talk programs that give more sensational opinion that critical thought as an example.

The "Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty" will be expanded from the court system to our Press. Where witnesses or suspects will not be tainted causing a high profile court hearing moved to a new venue.

Additional penalties could be:

1) Being charged with interfering in an ongoing criminal investigation that will include irresponsible members of the press or paparazzi.

2) Stalking or Harassment of witnesses or persons of interest.

3) An imposed monetary fine to the News Agency from a direct employee of the firm. If not a direct fine to a free agent news reporter or member of the paparazzi.

4) Confiscation of equipment be it: cameras, audio microphones, up to impounding of a news vehicle. Be it a satellite truck or to personal transportation of the press or paparazzi.

Any news making equipment that is confiscated must be stored in a appropriate storage facility that is both secure and if necessary temperature controlled. Upon release of the equipment a fee must be paid for the upkeep of the storage facility costs. Otherwise the property will be considered as forfeited and will be auctioned off by the State in order to generate revenue.

A Red Zone system will be devised around a protected person be it their residence or work place. Including a set distance of protection while in transit when in a personal vehicle. For any criminal case witness or person of interest (suspect) the Press or Paparazzi seek out to cover as news worthy. A modified version of sexual predator penal code will be utilized for the allowable set distance.

A Red Zone will be treated as a "No Go Zone" of enforceable protections. Akin to a perimeter that no trespassers could cross or the squatters of news vehicles and their respective news crews.

Stage 2:

Will apply to public figures be they celebrities or politicians up to diplomats. Where similar restrictions will apply under the Stage 3 provisions. Except that for politicians or elected / appointed public officials of the State. Will continue to be monitored by the Press when on State grounds. (IE Congress, Governors Mansion, Fund Raisers, Banquets, etc...)

In terms of Paparazzi that may utilize cheap tactics of colliding with a celebrities personal vehicle. In order to facilitate a impromptu photo opportunity of an angered celebrity or their personal staff. It will be considered a Hit & Run criminal penalty whether it was accidental or an overt act.

Additional protections for those under Stage 2 will be when in transit. Be it for work related or personal leisure, such as: roadways, marine vessels, or aircraft. Including personal accommodations on resort / hotel property, or guest private property grounds. For ground vehicle transportation a set distance must always be adhered to when tailing a celebrity occupied vehicle. When a celebrity is on a yacht up to a cruise ship that any non-staff personal accommodations must be situated at a set distance. Celebrities such as authors or others yet still conducting a work related workshop on a cruise ship. Will have amended restrictions in order to interact with others as a form of prior consent. Celebrities or Politicians utilizing public air liners will also have a set distance of protection during transit. From unwanted persons in order to maintain their privacy, staff of course is excluded from such interactions. During a stay at a hotel / resort property a red zone restriction will also be in place. Besides if a celebrity or politician is staying in a guest residence of a friend or relative.

The only exception is if a agreed to form of consent disclosure is utilized to gain an exclusive interview or photo shoot. Where any employee or sub-contracted workers (including other guests of the news staff) personal cell / smart phones will be switched off. Where undisclosed hidden cameras or audio microphones will be forbidden.

Stage 1:

Will be anyone else that the news media outlets or paparazzi wish to pursue under news coverage. Similar to Stages 2 & 3 in a "Red Zone" of a personal residence, workplace, or in a personal vehicle whilst in transit.

Exclusions: Such as the use of personal sport vehicles of: ATV / Quads, Snow Mobiles, Bicycles, Roller Blades / Skate Boards, Wheel Chairs (hand powered or electric) are fair game to the paparazzi or the news makers. As long as a person of interest (suspect), witness, celebrity, politician, diplomat, common person is not in their aforementioned "Red Zone".

The United States needs a uniform version of a standardized set of protections from unwanted intrusions from the Press or Paparazzi media outlets. Otherwise our civil liberties will continue to be diminished and humane treatment of others will continue to be in decline.
