Public School Support Concept: Schools Adopting A School Program

Hello All,

During this period of "No Child Left Behind" Federal Act mandated by the Federal government here in America for public education. Where drilling students academically nearly in a para-military fashion to gauge they're overall learning for the pupil and the school itself. Has in effect voided the humane process of a public education based on inquiry especially for those schools that receive a failing grade. Many of these failing schools can be found not in the suburbs but in the inner cities of America. Such schools that continue to receive failing grades year after year are punished by removing resources and much needed public education dollars.

Instead of fostering a separate and very unequal public education system in America. My suggested concept comes into play allowing the creme d' la creme of the high grade scoring schools to adopt they're failing grade School cousins within the same school district county.

Each school district can devise the incentives of the high achieving school to adopt a school that matches the same grade levels they both teach. (IE a high school adopts another high school)

What this school to school adoption process entails is the following.

1) A teacher, administrative staff (IE assistant principles), school guidance counselors etc... Will be allowed to have an exchange program for a couple semesters at a time between the schools. So the high performer faculty can rotate to the failing school to serve for a couple semesters. And vice a versa the faculty in need to learning better processes can do so in the role model school.

2) A satellite non-profit "Foundation" is created for the failing grade school. Where excess resources, such as text books, computers, multi-media content, library books, etc.. Can be funneled from the role model school to the failing grade school through the foundation.

The foundation will also serve as a local community outreach fund raiser vehicle. For much needed monies that would otherwise be withheld from the failing school under the "No Child Left Behind" Federal Act. Preferably private donated dollars or other committed resources from the community can lift the ailing school in need. Fund raiser events can be also held in the role model school for their cousin school in need. Teaching perhaps civics and volunteerism to the student population in both schools by such fund raiser events.

3) The Foundation can also foster shared "Workshops" between the schools. Where akin to student tutoring the failing school can be remediated by the role model school and other faculty in the school district.

Such a school adoption process can take many years to reestablish the failing school into a productive passing grade school. But when it does occur the once school in distress of resources and monies will have graduated. The foundation laid in place for the ailing school will stay permanently to continue its mandate for providing what is needed when able.

Like the proud parent that adopted the school in distress they can be allowed to repeat the process all over again with a new school adoptee if they so choose after a cooling off period. The cooling off period will allow additional unofficial mentorship between the former adopted school. Where the role model school can recenter its role in its own local community. By having a time out period to readjust by being on its own again deciding if it will adopt another school within such a program.

Video Game Console Concept: Video Game System Embedded Into Your LCD / Plasma Displays

Hello All,

How many of you remember the days of the CRT televisions with an embedded VCR or DVD player in them?

Well what if carrying that multi-purpose CRT TV sets into the LCD / Plasma TV set age?

Where upon the base of a LCD / Plasma display be it upon a computer monitor or entertainment center. A video game console system is embedded directly into your LCD / Plasma. So if you have a 15"inch display to a 60"inch display you can have your video game system with it. Especially nowadays where the the PS3 (Playstation 3) or the Xbox 360 offer respectively Bluray or HD next generation DVD players with them.

If we can have multi-function PDA's or Cell Phones, why can't we have multi-function TV or Computer Monitor sets?

For those LCD / Plasma displays that hang on your wall instead. The base can be extended downward keeping the overall thickness of the set top display. Allowing the video game console system to be embedded into the base. Much like today's "Server Blades" that IBM has showcased in the past via commercials.

Having the video game console system configured into a blade design slipping right into the overall thickness of today's LCD / Plasma displays.

It can be done, it's just the video games industry hasn't envisioned it yet.

Cable Tv Industry Concept: Viewer Surveys Stops Fast Forwarding Past Commericals

Hello All,

Comcast is my local television cable operator in my county of Florida. I'm also the proud user of their "DVR" (Digital Video Recorder) service allowing me to pause live television or record programs I enjoy whilst I do other activities. As the introduction of DVR capable devices via services like Tivo that ushered forth the technology originally. Television viewers have for the most part leaped to fast forwarding past nuisance commercials. To get to the meat of the programming they're tuned in for particularly.

My concept would allow cable Tv or satellite operators to re-center viewer attention onto said commercials. By scattering incentives to Tv viewers to actually pay attention and via remote control have limited interaction with said commercials.

Right now on the Internet there is a survey site that offers prizes via a point system for Tv viewers. They're called "Reward Tv" where viewers sign-up for free and list which national Tv channel programming they've watched. Via online questionnaires tied to a reward point system they answer questions to what was aired during the programs events including said commercials.

Now borrowing said format to a small degree a Cable or Satellite Tv operator offers a "Consumer Survey Panel" to its subscribers. Let's say a cross-branding of AC Nielsen or some other prominent national survey firm. Where cable or dish satellite subscribers sign-up for free through their remote controls and a pin number to this consumer survey panel. In return for watching any program they choose according to their own personal viewership schedule.

Randomly with there DVR service an alert will flash across there screen or an icon will blink onto the screen denoting a survey opportunity. The Tv viewer will than with their DVR service pause "Live Television" and start the survey that was randomly offered to them. The survey can be anything of demographic value to something akin that "Reward Tv" already does with Internet users who watch television.

The incentives for Tv cable or satellite subscribers to enroll in such a "consumer survey panel". Is they can get prizes, enter sweepstakes, product discount coupons based off the commercials, product coupons of free samples of said commercials, gain reward points for redemption via a gift catalog, or receive a small discount on their Cable or Satellite bill during said month. The later incentive would be something akin to what my electric utility company (Florida Power & Light) does with a metered electricity conservation service called "On Call".

Where each month the "On Call" service offers me a monthly credit of a few dollars on my electric utility bill. So the incentive of a monthly credit on a cable or satellite Tv subscriber to their bill would be another hook to deploy for joining the consumer survey Tv panel.

This is practically a Win / Win / Win scenario where Cable / Satellite operators, there commercial sponsors, and consumers all get incentives. Whilst reducing DVR users from fast forwarding past commercials but now gaining valuable near "Live" survey panelist feedback from Tv audiences.

Resort Concept: Themed Entertainment Hotel Resort

Many of us whom have the spirit of wonder within are always delighted to visit an amusement park. No matter our age, be it a child to a senior citizen, the youth factor is eternal. With that said unless you live close to a regional hub say Orlando Florida to the numerous sorts of Amusement Park destinations. You may be restricted to visiting such places to once a year if not much less during a course of your lifetime.

What if instead the Amusement Park experience was transplanted into a hotel resort experience instead. Where upon the resort guests are treated along the way in tandem as amusement park patrons. By the numerous layered interactive experiences to be had in such a translation of a themed hotel resort.

The themes can be from the typical fantasy to science fiction. Although additional genres will be welcomed like that of a historical period, be it 17th century Caribbean to a resort complex modeled similar to a Buddhist Shrine or Monastery.

The interactive aspects for the resort guests can be educational to entertainment or both. Right now Universal Studios is constructing an amusement park in Orlando Florida based upon the Harry Potter fantasy franchise of J.K. Rowlings. A themed hotel resort under the Harry Potter franchise treatment would resemble "Hoggwarts Academy". Where typical hotel rooms of single occupancy to full blown pent house suites. Will fall under the decor of a "What If" this was really "Hoggwarts Academy"? Where the walled paintings come to life as if haunted by the deceased. Doors creak as if in a medieval English manor and hotel staff dressed to the tee as if they were in a Harry Potter amusement park.

Each room besides of having the typical Television announcing resort activities on a special localized channel. Can have a kiosk in each hotel room that acts akin to a local PC entertainment hub. Where either temporary accounts as hotel guests can be registered to take part of the interactive gamer Esq offerings of the themed resort. Or those with a permanent account from Home can sign in to continue game play. As they would from a Harry Potter type of electronic online game. The localized hotel room kiosk is the local media hub portal to the entire themed hotel resort.

The interactive media experiences across such a themed resort can vary from online gamers competing against those at the hotel resort. To unique avatar (player characters) created dungeons experienced interactively as a localized pavilion in the themed resort. Sometimes the hotel resort can be treated as one Meta game pavilion that is seamless for the hotel guest. As if traveling the fictitious lands of the Harry Potter franchise.

Similar to a shopper as a casual gamer experiencing the novelty for the first time. Walking into a hotel gift shop where the hotel guest is greeted by there avatar name as an honored guest. (this can be done where the hotel guest wears a RFID (radio frequency identity) name tag) That tracks and records the progress and experiences of the player created avatar of the hotel resort guest. Where continuing with the hotel gift shop example the hotel guest will be offered incentives similar to a frequent buyers program. (especially if the guest has logged into a home account as referred to the hotel room kiosk example above) Somewhat similar to what a hotel resort may offer to preferred guests with an amenities program.

This is just a glimpse of what I have in mind in the business model of a themed hotel resort. That mimics a 21st century amusement park of tomorrow that could exist today.

Prediction: Cigarette Black Markets (Avoiding Taxes)

I only make a few predictions when I post here to my blog site. With that stated when I see a trend that has been evolving for nearly a generation now. It is nearly safe to make this prediction that cigarettes will eventually be so consumer cost prohibitive that they will be criminalized in use.

Recently the State of Florida has passed legislature that would increase the tax on Cigarette sales by a full US Dollar. I'm not poo-pooing this since I myself am a non-smoker. Since the increased State tax revenue I believe will be going toward education dollars of our State wide school system.

Already in this recession we're in across the Nation taxes on cigarettes be it a full cartoon or by the pack. Is becoming cost prohibitive to the point a "Black Market" will take advantage of this imposed trend on consumers. Whether this black market appears in your local streets from peddlers or by the Internet E-Commerce websites based off-shore.

State and local governments are hell bent on increasing taxes on cigarettes to the point of an eventual soft prohibition. Where it can be argued due to the health effects that State governments are outlaying on health care costs for smokers (past or present). That a prohibition of cigarettes will be occurring classifying them as an illegal substance at least in the U.S. . Abroad internationally this will be clearly a different story in non-Western nations where cigarette manufacturers are making the bulk of their income.

When and not so much If cigarettes become a form of legalized prohibition in America. Be it by making them very consumer cost prohibitive as a luxury goods at least when taxes are involved.
A soft form of prohibition could be regulated into place concerning the usage of cigarettes.

Where law enforcement will begin to chase its own tail with additional responsibilities in policing this trend. Of closing down black markets of cigarette sales that are avoiding paying taxes at retail. Doubling this where cigarette goods will be imported by smugglers much like in drug & human traffickers that is occurring today in America. So as to supply said black markets from abroad where cigarette use will be sky rocketing like it was in the U.S. 1940's.

It's not so much a form of human rights to protect the health of non-western nations (consumers) when concerning the usage of cigarette smoking. But that's another topic I will not get into currently.

Anti-Sexual Assault Concept: Contempory Chastity Belts

Hello All,

This topic and subsequent concept is more so taboo but nonetheless innovative in protection from a sexual assault aka rape. This is a modern update of the older Victorian chastity belt women of higher status usually wore while they were still maidens. It can be utilized by civilian women but it is also geared to women in the military armed forces.

To date where the US Armed Forces deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan are being confronted with a higher incident rates of: marital divorce, suicides, desertions, rape (both civilians & military personnel from there own ranks), and misc criminality.

This innovation of the chastity belt is designed to protect women in the military forces deployed. However it can find a dual purpose utilization here in civilian use during daily living. For military women that are deployed in combat duty operations where rape could occur in enemy hands this is a must.

There are two models I would like to mention one is Passive the other Aggressive in nature.

First, the Passive design is a 2.0 version update from the traditional version your great grandmother may have worn during Victorian times.

This one is similar in a wrap around belt and sheath covering any female sexual organs and rectum. However the materials are modern be it a kevlar type weave that can deflect knife thrust or a bullet shot. The locking mechanism can be a tumbler design combination down to a similar lock used by your mail man to open a secured mailbox. (pun not intended) Of course carrying the key during use would defeat the purpose of wearing a chastity belt to begin with.

Another locking mechanism can be similar to a unique digital 128 bit encrypted key code randomly generated. Where the user would need a qualifying pin code to authentic and open the lock.

Second. the Aggressive design is more sadistic in nature and very brutal mutilation towards the rapist attacker.

A female wearer will continue to have the typical Kevlar mesh like cord covering her rectum typically found in a traditional chastity belt design. Noting the kevlar mesh cording would be insulated in a soft like foam exterior to minimize irritations during use.

The portion protecting the female sexual organs is inserted through a mechanical clamp hand tool. The exterior is similar in composition to what is covering the kevlar mesh weave cord protecting a woman's rectum. In this case a foam exterior inserted into the vagina. The interior lethal portion is the compromised of several razors at differing angles. Akin to a cheese grader on steroids if an attacking rapist inserts his penis by force into such an aggressive chastity belt. He will certainly mutilate his penis and if he yanks out his penis in a jerked reaction he will most likely sever his penis from his body.

Such an Aggressive counter measure device will deter one or more rapists during a sexual assault attack. If multiple attackers (gang bang) after witnessing the first rapist mutilated. The subsequent rapists may be in shock and retreat during the ensuing chaos. If not the female wearer would have an equal opportunity during the sexual assault to flee for safety.

Yes, the aggressive version is sadistic but it is an excellent deterrent from being sexually assaulted. Again the Passive version will also do the job but at less shocking mayhem.

Nonetheless in our Western period of hedonism where sexual media is on the rise. Having consequences of increased sexual abuse not just to children but to woman at an alarming rate globally. (especially in a war zone or in civil unrest) This can be one of the first lines of proactive defense a woman can utilize to her discreet advantage.
